The MEGA SYNTHESIS has resurrected the sound engine of the iconic YM2612 sound chip, faithfully recreating the 4-operator FM sound module, the 8-bit PCM sound module, and the SN76489 PSG (Programmable Sound Generator) sound module used by the original console. Revive the SONIC sensation of the golden era and fully recreate the legendary sound of the world's first 16-bit video game console from the late '80s.

Creating diverse game music is a breeze with the MEGA SYNTHESIS's intuitive 6-track sequencer. The straightforward layout comprises 3 FM synthesis tracks, 2 PSG synthesis tracks, and 1 PCM sample track, with a simple one-knob-one-operation design. You can create patterns of up to 8 bars with 1 step equaling a 16th note, and apply 10 types of effects, such as adding reverberation, repeating phrases, and more, with the amount of effect adjustable for each track.

The MEGA SYNTHESIS boasts a 4-operator & 8-algorithm FM sound module, a PSG (Programmable Sound Generator) sound module, and an 8-bit PCM sound part of YM2612. Yuzo Koshiro, the renowned composer known for the "Ys," "The Streets of Rage," and "Etrian Odyssey" series, has contributed sound banks and patterns. Additionally, the Legacy Mode faithfully replicates the characteristically grungy sounding quirks of the YM2612 sound, which can be turned on or off for each track.

The MEGA SYNTHESIS features 27 keys with ±3 octaves switching for easy melody input, 15 physical control knobs, and 1 encoder knob. It also includes audio inputs (stereo 3.5mm mini-jack) and outputs (stereo line out, stereo 3.5mm mini-jack headphone out), MIDI in/out connectors (5-Pin DIN type), and SYNC in/out jacks (monaural 3.5mm mini-jack), allowing for compatibility with the Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator series.

Measuring 11.7 (W) x 6.92 (D) x 1.89 (H) inches and weighing 1.74 lb., the MEGA SYNTHESIS can be powered by 6 AA batteries or a 9V DC output AC adapter (1A or greater, EIAJ3 standard). It comes with an overlay sheet for FM synthesis editing, and the AC adapter is not included.
